Artist In Residence Program
The purpose of The Raymer Society’s Artist-in-Residency program is to perpetuate the memory of Lester Raymer and to offer an opportunity for visual artists and craftsmen to pursue their particular art form while being surrounded by the inspiring environment created by Raymer.
The Artist-in-Residency program at the Red Barn Studio is open to visual artists and craftsmen, musicians, writers, and performers. The Raymer Society offers the artists the use of a small apartment and studio space for periods from one week to several weeks.
Artists are expected to be active in the studio during the open hours of the Red Barn Studio. Exceptions are made for artists working off premises.
Artists are encouraged to bring examples of their work to display and sell during their residency. The Raymer Society receives 25% of all sales during the artists stay. Kansas sales tax is charged on all sales.
Artists are also encouraged to give workshops in their area of expertise or interest. Proposals for the workshops should be made at the time of application.
