Barbara O’Leary

Oil painter, illustrator and watercolorist Barbara O’Leary, of Shawnee, Kansas, will be the Artist-in-Residence Friday, Sept 1st through Saturday, Sept 23 at the Red Barn Studio Museum, 212 S. Main, Lindsborg. She says, “I am looking forward to working on landscapes of local parks, countryside and streets in town, both in the Kansas City area and in the Lindsborg area, which I have been planning for a while.” Barbara has been teaching classes (through the Johnson County Park and Recreation Department) for adults, seniors and youngsters, both in the basics of drawing and painting methods. “I am anxious to work outside part of the time and therefore, I would like to have classes in plein air for students, 12 yrs of age through adults on Saturdays, Sept 2nd, Sept 9th, Sept 16th and Sept 23rd from 9:30AM to 12PM.” Cost per class is $100 members and $125 non-members. Participants need to provide their own supplies for the medium that they will be working in: 2D in graphite colored pencils, watercolor, acrylic or oil.
